Gary Waters has had a distinguished career spanning over 40 seasons in college basketball. As a head coach for a total of 21 years, with stints at Kent State, Rutgers, and Cleveland State, he achieved 365 wins and led 12 of his 21 teams to postseason tournaments. He is highly regarded in the collegiate game and has served as a coach for the USA Basketball Men’s National Team Trials. Waters has been honored with inductions into three Hall of Fames, received national awards, and held key positions in basketball organizations. Additionally, he has authored two books and established a character development workshop. Currently retired and residing in Tampa, Florida with his wife and family, Waters continues to contribute to the basketball community through his involvement in various committees and initiatives.

Terry Doyle is an author, nationally recognized educational consultant, and Professor Emeritus of Reading and Learning Disabilities from Ferris State University where he taught for 38 years. From 1998 to 2009 he served as the Senior Instructor for Faculty Development. Terry is a highly sought-after speaker who has given over 400 workshops at colleges around the world and another 150  keynote addresses at regional, national, and international conferences on ways to develop a learner-centered approach to teaching. His publications include The New Science of Learning: How to Learn in Harmony with your Brain co-authored with Dr. Todd Zakrajsek (first and second editions). The book is written for college and high school students. It has been described as breaking new ground in helping students understand how learning happens and suggests a new paradigm for how students should prepare themselves for learning. It was the best-selling book in the history of Stylus Publishing. He is also the author of  Learner Centered Teaching: Putting the Research on Learning into Practice which was featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s Selected New Books in Higher Education in 2012 and the book Helping Students Learn in a Learner Center Environment: A Guide to Teaching in Higher Education which was translated into Chinese and was originally published by Stylus in 2008. He is the co-author of the book New Faculty Transition -An Ideal Program published in 2004. His newest book published in 2023 and co-authored with Dr. B. Michael Doyle is titled The New Science of Teaching: Rethinking a Teacher’s Role in the Age of Data. Terry is the CEO of Learner-Centered Teaching Consultants and Learner-Centered Tutoring.
